aria @ proximal energy

i'm a software engineer at proximal. i work on aria — the ai copilot inside our solar asset-management platform. chat that calls real tools, and a voice buddy that flies around the screen explaining what you're looking at. the cursor following you right now? little sibling. same family.

data tools that finish

a cli that turns plain english into clean datasets. a sentiment server that plugs straight into tableau desktop. an mbta reliability model that hit 98.5% on 850k+ rows. small scopes, shipped things.

the why

+notes — why i build

we all have access to the same models now. the difference isn’t who has the ai — it’s who ships something useful with it.

i like working on the interface layer: the part where a model stops being a demo and starts being a tool someone reaches for twice a day. chat that calls real functions. voices that point at real charts. numbers that hold up when a cfo checks them.

and i think software is allowed to be fun. that’s why this site has a cursor with a personality instead of another dark-mode hero section.

faq

questions people actually ask

software engineering with an ai bent. i build the interface layer — agents, chat, voice, data tools — and the plumbing behind it. currently at proximal energy; before that, a data analytics master's at northeastern.

typescript + react up front, python + fastapi behind, postgres underneath. for ai work: llm apis, evals, and whatever the problem actually needs.

boston. remote-friendly.

i'm happy at proximal, but always up for interesting conversations. email works best — i reply within a day.

hold ⌃⌥ (control + option) and talk. it flies around and shows you things. i build its bigger sibling at my day job, so this one is a family project. your mic is only live while you hold the keys, and audio is never stored.

eight years. indo-chinese fusion is the specialty. the wok sticker is earned, not decorative.

me, pair-programming with claude code. next.js on vercel, voice by a small audio model, icons drawn pixel by pixel. no template.
